Trevor Mizzi’s Media Brain

Sharksword Productions presents a Sherwin Browne and Trevor Mizzi production "Pads" Summary: Two police officers, Vince Oldsman and Quinn Forrester, find themselves caught in a life or death struggle against flying mutated pads History and Concept The idea for the project came about from a joke Browne told Mizzi, "What has wings and sucks blood? Pads." From that joke, the creators began joking how that could, itself, be the idea behind a B-Grade horror movie. The joke soon became reality, and the two geniuses began discussing how it could be molded into a three-part episode for a film project they had to do. During the mid-year holidays, Browne and Mizzi worked on the script, act breakdown, characters and storyboard for the movie. Mizzi used movies such as 'Hot Fuzz', 'The Fifth Element' and 'Big Trouble in Little China' as inspirations for characters and gags in the movie. Browne worked on the storyboards in co-ordination, and created a revised script with improved dialouge. Act 1/Episode 1 The first 90 seconds contains the 'birth' of the winged pads. In this scene we have the scientist, Dr. Ginger Beaver, working on a "cure" for women's menstruation. When a chemical (Chemical X) is thrown into a waste bin containing used pads, it causes a chemical reaction that, for some unknown reason, causes them to move and fly, and grow mouths. The scene ends with Beaver screaming at an incoming group of pads. Act 2/Episode 2 This scene introduces the show's heroes, police officers Vince Oldsman and Quinn Forrster. They are directed to Redback Library, where there has been an animal attack. Once the officers arrive, they witness a large number of pads attacking people. Oldsman and Forrester help the wounded and survivors to safety and hide behind a bush. Scene ends with a pad going by their bush, unable to find them. Act 3/Episode 3 The bush the two are hiding behind also happens to be the bush Beaver appears behind. She has developed a radio-signal emitting device that'll render the pads "dead". As the two police officers get into a gun-fight with the pads, Beaver activates the weapon, and the pads fall to the ground. Forrester attempts to pick up Beaver, who just slaps him in the face. The scene/episode ends with a single pad attempting to fly Future of the Series The concept Oldsman and Forrester finding themselves assigned to protecting the public from the most extraordinary circumstances is a possibility currently in discussion. Reception Most test audiences and friends of the makers have met the series with mixed responses. While some believe the series is unique and a definite success, others consider the concept "gross" and "unoriginal
