 Project: Big Teeth

Basically a spoof/comical setup/satire of shark films. This was a project I begun in 2004 but due to other commitments, it never took off.

Things I wanted to include were

• Sterotypical stupid roaring shark
• The two lovers that get killed at the start of the film (traditionally teenagers)
• The beach government that’ll keep beaches open or somehow exploit a killing sark for money
• The gung-ho shark killer that’ll end up being eaten by a shark in a easily escapable situation
• A shark that swims backwards/outsmarts a group of people
• A shark that jumps/walks on water
• Marine biologists that go "What was that?!" when they first get attacked by the shark
• The hero that teams up with someone with a vengence/interest in that particular shark
• The death in the shark resulting in a huge explosion
• Scenes where people are pulled underwater
• Fake-looking shark fins to be used excessivlely and get mistaked for where the shark head is
• The ‘dum-dum’ Jaws-like dramatic music that is practically used in every shark movie
• ‘Shark view’ of attack from underwater
• Scientific misguidance from shark experts on how sharks act

I’ve had enough of seeing movies where the good guys win, or a group of people win against incredible odds. Developing a story to turn all that around. This is a basic plot for it.

Basically, the Americans in the distant future had taken over the world, and had banished/transferred anyone not-American to a distant star system. There, for hundreds of years, the people had adapted to a new environment, and down the generations, they heard of this great place ‘Earth’. Eventually, over time, they decide to retake Earth. After forming a massive armada, with all this cool stuff, optimistic views, they have glorious battle but end up losing more then they predicted.

Thats only half the idea (keeping the rest safe for now)
