The End. Judgement Day. Doomsday. Armageddon. The Final Day. D-Day…Presentation Day. End of Tafe. All these words describe tomorrow.

Well, it’s arrived. My Cert IV New Media course is now almost completely over. All that is left is tomorrow’s presentation day, and then some little award nights in the upcoming days.

This year for me has been excellent. Not only did I learn useful skills, but I met a number of talented people that I hope to run into again next year or in the years to come. I remember on the first day, when I hardly knew anyone, I remember thinking that at most I will only be connected to a couple of my classmates, and the rest would have little interest in me. End result: complete opposite. Managed to get on the good side with everyone. I couldn’t be happier.

I’ve completed all my DVDs, and the ‘Production Trend’ kept continuing. My trend of “Nothing going right in production” didn’t miss a beat here. My DVD making program kept freezing up whenever I tried to reburn a copy of my show reel to make minor adjustments, so now I’m stuck with a “passable” show reel. Hopefully the bugs will be ignored…hopefully. Might wear a suit tomorrow that’ll match my stylish DVDs and hope they pass me on that alone.

With the future to look forward to, already started planning ahead. I’ve booked an interview so I can go on to the Advanced Diploma at Chisholm. At Coles, gonna keep working there, and see if I can get in contact with any form of media department they might have. I’ve been stacking shelves and offloading trucks for five years…might need a change of scenery. But, inbetween work and study, gonna be working on more side projects, and start submitting to short film festivals. With a Canon XM2 camera now part of my arsenal, time to start aiming somewhere.

My friends and I are gonna be working hard on the MMO game now - we fell behind schedule a little, so we gonna make up for lost time. With a bit of luck, we’ll have a teaser ready in a few weeks.

I’ve been invited to the U.S. by a few friends that want me to film a documentary on their life. I won’t go into details, but they’ve had a hard time, and what they’re accomplishing now is incredible. Most likely I won’t make it there next year…maybe year after.

Without wanting to sound like a jerk, but if I had to say I had a regret about this year…it would be the fact I helped too many people at once and didn’t spend enough time on my own projects. I volunteered to assist with numerous projects, and what happened was I left myself little time to do what I wanted, and that time shortened even more when my mum went to hospital for two weeks. Nothing wrong with helping people, but for future reference, should have made sure I have time to do my things first.

To anyone/everyone who reads my blogs…cheers. See you in the not-to-distant future
