This story was based on a joke Sherwin told me yesterday

“What has wings and sucks blood?” “Pads”

Instantly when I heard that, I just imaged a bunch of flying pads going around like bats and attacking people…which translated into a new movie idea, that could possibly serve as a base plan for the script project (Three 90 second acts that combine to form a movie). Woman’s pads, puppet-controlled via fishing wire and coat hangers, flying around and assaulting people. Obviously, like most B-grade movie plans like this, there would have to be a B-grade reasoning…so either nuclear radiation or voodoo.

Currently in the process of maybe purchasing a Sony PD150 camcorder to replace my current one. Would be interesting to see how the camera goes filming this interesting concept.

Random 8:22 pm

I haven’t had a chance to post up the video because I haven’t gotten around to asking for a copy. I would like to note for the project, I wasn’t as active in it as I should have been. I assisted with some of the ideas and was a ‘look out’ for incoming traffic during a scene. Nick, Anna and Rahim completed the editing while I was preoccupied with other tasks.

Sharksword Productions presents
The Long Long Long Long Long Long Long Long Long Long Long Journey

EXT. Highway Road
Rupert Gandawan, a Echidna with a suitcase on his back, looks up. We read with Rupert: Sydney 200,000KM. Sighing to his fate, he begins the walk.
FRONT PERSPECTIVE

We see him waddling towards us, almost ‘bopping’, then CLOSELY ZOOM onto the head, revealing he has earphones.

SIDE-PERSPECTIVE
Rupert is seen walking on the horizon. The sky fades from dawn to midday to dusk to midnight. A semi-transparent calander appears, with a day being crossed off every two seconds (from 4th June till the 14th June). Montages of Rupert sleeping, eating, urinating and blogging on Blogsome intersect each other as the days roll

CUT
We see Rupert walking past roadkill - birds, lizards, kangaroos, goannas…and then a humpback whale with tyre skid marks over the head.
SIDE-PERSPECTIVE
Ruper sticks out a foot with a ‘thumb’ on the end. A taxi slides next to Rupert almost instantly. The taxi ‘bumps’ as Rupert boards, then takes off with speed (tracking shot of Taxi).
6 seconds later, the taxi comes to a complete halt, and we hear a ‘booting’ sound, then see Rupert flying out of hte taxi, back onto the side. The taxi takes off, leaving a cloud of dust behind it.
Once the dust clears, Rupert looks up at a sign: Sydney 199,999KM

Rupert sighs, and begins walking again

Shipment Unexpected, THe

EXT. High Port Harbour. Foggy, Late at Night

The dock is quiet. Wide-angled view, showing the piers to be empty, and surrounded by fog. A dock officer patrols up and down the piers, hands behind his back, whistling to himself

INT. Harbour Dock Office

Jenny French is monitoring on a computer screen the incoming path of an expected cargo ship. She has a speaker headset on, and is going through a checklist on her desk. She finishes ticking off the last few items, then checks her screen, and looks ready to panic. The ship is heading for the piers too fast

FRENCH
White Camel, this is High Port Harbour. Your speed is too fast. Reduce speed now.

Static comes from her reciever

FRENCH
White Camel, this is High Port Harbour. Respond

More static. French checks her equipment, and confirms everything is working

FRENCH
(to herself)
Everthings working…come on, come on
(speaks into the headset)
White Camel, White Camel, you’re approaching too fast. Reduce speed immedinatly, or you will overshoot the pier.

Static continues to pour through the speakers, and almost instantly, the lights flicker around her like a power shortage. French looks up and around, in mixed puzzlement and fear. She reaches for her front pocket, and picks up a radio

FRENCH
Hodes, you there?
HODES
(via radio)
Am here, French. I can hear the ship. She sounds fast
FRENCH
I’m having trouble reaching them. They won’t respond, and are coming in too fast
HODES
(beat)
Say again?
FRENCH
They’re not responding, and they’re flying in!

EXT. Hight Port Harbour

Hodes is on a pier, and turns around to face out to sea

HODES
(into radio)
How much time we have?

There is slience on the radio

HODES
Jenny?
FRENCH
…Bob…its jumping
HODES
Jumping?
FRENCH
The radar…its showing the position to be all over the radar
HODES
Interference?
FRENCH
I don’t…I don’t know

Suddenly a light begins decending above Hodes. We do not see the cause. All we see is Hodes looking up, and looking fearful

HODES
(barley a whisper)
Oh…my…God…
FRENCH
Talk to me, Hodes. Whats going on out there?

INT. High Port Harbour

FRENCH
What do you see?
HODES
No…no…

We see the light starting to fill the windows. French rushes to the nearest window, and looks up. Her mouth is gaping wide

EXT. High Port Harbour
The light gets blinding bright, then dissapears. A second later, the port explodes. Wood and metal go flying in all directions from a massive explosion. Hodes’ body goes flying past the camera.

EXT. White Camel

The ship, lit with lights and fire flies past the camera, we can see the explosion in the distance. Suddenly the ship stops with a sudden halt, and every light on board ceases, and the fires put themselves out

Sharksword Productions™ presents
Store #655
By Trevor Mizzi

First Draft 20/06/08

INT. YumFood #655 – Aisle 5, 10:05pm
The store is mostly empty. The busy hours have passed, so there isn’t too many customers around. Three grocery service assistants Harold (17), Wayne (16) and Ian (17) are at the back of the aisle, each of them standing behind a Safe-T-Step in a row. The aisle is empty before them, with the floor clear of any objects. Ian checks to their sides

IAN
Michael must be still smoking out the back
WAYNE
OK, let’s do it. Got the timer ready?
HAROLD
Yeah, all set, mate. Ready?
IAN
Yep
WAYNE
Yep
HAROLD
OK (beat) Three. Two. One!

The three assistants jump onto their Safe-T-Steps, with one foot on the ground, and begin riding them like skateboards down the aisle. Ian and Harold are easily at the front while Wayne has trouble building speed and trips backwards near the start

WAYNE
Damn!
IAN
(laughs) You still suck, mate!

Harold skids faster, and reaches the end 3 seconds before Ian does. Ian skids at the end just as an old lady pushing a trolley of dog food turns around the corner

HAROLD
Ian! Stop!

Ian collides into the trolley, causing the old lady to jump back in fright but not before she forgets to let go. She cradles her hand

OLD LADY
Ow! Ow! Ow! You crazy?
IAN
(stammers) I…I…I’m sorry, madam! You OK?
OLD LADY
My hand! My hand! Ow! Ow!
IAN
Come with me to the service desk. Come on. Easy

Ian escorts the old lady to the service desk, who begins crying in pain. Wayne jogs up the aisle to Harold, who was walking in circles with his face down.

WAYNE
Mad! That was a funny show, man!
HAROLD
Yeah, and now Michael is gonna fire us
WAYNE
Nah, he won’t do that
MICHAEL (P.A System)
Harold Kowalski, Wayne Sarrington and Ian Reichide to the manager’s office IMMEDIANTLY!

Harold and Wayne look at each other and don’t know whether to laugh or not

INT. MANAGER’S OFFICE
Michael, the manager, sits behind his desk looking obviously pissed off. Ian, Harold and Wayne are standing in front of him, hands behind their backs.

MICHAEL
What happened?
IAN
I ran into her on my Safe-T-Step
MICHAEL
Causing a fracture in her wrist
IAN
Thought it was a little tap
MICHAEL
(angry) Do you know who she is? That was Natalie Octan. She is, or was, a regular customer here. She may well have been the oldest customer. She’d complain about the pricings all the time. Insult the checkout operators. Mess up displays, and she smelled like anchovy barf. (relaxed) Good job

The three look surprise and in shock

Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood Mornin’ Vietnam…if you’re in Vietnam…

OK, been a while since I posted, that was because from Friday till Monday, I was out in Mafeking drinking and driving (most times in that order) for the 2008 Rover’s Mudbash. Our group got some film and photos, and I’ve volunteered to try and put it all together into a DVD or something. I’ve already checked the film I recorded…on my little mobile phone…and it looks pretty “uncool” on a big screen. I’m thinking, with the help of fellow classmates, use Final Cut Pro and have multiple videos running on the same screen, which is similar to what the recent video project was, except this time it’s more fun (no offense).

I’m admitting I’m doing the mad Tuesday get-everything-done-before-deadline dash. My intentions was to try and knock over a portion of the non-technical-work at the camp…but that didn’t happen.

I filmed my montage and was ready to upload onto my computer…when I found out ym camera is too old for my computer. I recently did a massive upgrade of my computer, and now I’m finding my scanner and camera arn’t compatable! DAMN YOU JVC! WHY DIDN’T YOU PREDICT VISTA WOULD BE TOO GOOD FOR YOU BACK IN 2003! NOw gotta look into buying a new camera…because the one on my phone is worse then Channel 31.

However, did manage to computer-draw the storyboards (roughly - need a new scanner)), and did a rough description undearneath (see previous post).

I’ve managed to finish 4 DVD menus for Season 3 Red vs Blue, and now just gotta find all my rough sketches…I should probably invest in a filing cabinet

And I just bought Supreme Commander with the expansion pack (for research)…and found that neither had their discs…and I can’t find the receipt. Unsmeggingbelievable!

If you would care to donate to the ‘Help Trevor Get His Work Done Foundation’, leave a comment and I’ll get back to you

Been asked to do a detailed analysis of my favourite media site…so here it is: Weebl’s Stuff (www.weebls-stuff.com/ )

Basically, the site was designed for Jonti PIcking and his friends to post cartoons they create, particulary their web series ‘The Everday Happenings of Weebl and Sometimes Weebl’s Friend, Bob’. Over the years, they’ve introduced new series, extra cartoons, and games. Recently they’ve been collecting flash animations, games and movies from fans and other site.

The main page has your standard navigation bar, news section, quick links, and unstoppable advertising. Although at first it seems crowded, you gradually learn that it is in fact easy to navigate.

I personally can’t see much wrong with it - the navigation bar at the top works fine and you don’t lose your place when you glide off the tabs to read the submenus, everything loads fairly quickly (depending on your bandwith), and the content is reasonable for most ages with perhaps one or two exceptions, but kids won’t pay attention to that type of stuff.

So, without further adue…me eat pie! thats it
